Operating procedure – a procedure for operating something or for dealing with a given situation. Procedure, process – a particular course of action intended to achieve a result; “the procedure of obtaining a driver’s license”; “it was a process of trial and error”

Definition of procedure. 1a: a particular way of accomplishing something or of acting. The noun procedure can be countable or uncountable. In more general, commonly used, contexts, the plural form will also be procedure. However, in more specific contexts, the plural form can also be procedures e.g. in reference to various types of procedures or a collection of procedures.

A process is a series of related tasks or methods that together turn inputs into outputs. A procedure is a prescribed way of undertaking a process or part of a process.
